Sniffle, sniffle, cough, cough

It appears that Claire's bout with her fever last weekend left her immune system a bit weak and she now has another nasty cold. She is lying in bed, asleep, and coughing. Hopefully this will pass soon. She hasn't been her normal, chipper self since last Sunday. We didn't realize how lucky we were until she was slammed with a cold on top of what we think might be some teeth. Mom keeps saying that and no new teeth are appearing. Is it possible she is entering the terrible two's at the age of 11.5 months???

She continues to develop her walking skills every day and has begun to master going UP the stairs.

As long as she has her gripper socks on she is less likely to fall on the hardwood floor and shows continued signs of core body strength. Bath time continues to be good and bad. She loves being in the water but hates it getting in her eyes. Mom has yet to find a way to get the soap out of her hair without it being an ordeal. She won't tip her head back, no matter what you try.

Dad swears she is saying Daddy. Mom's not so sure. It does sound like it but the letter 'd' has been her favorite since she first starting making noise so it could just be habit. Mom would really like to hear Mommy or Mama but fears that is a long time coming. Several weeks ago we posted that she was waving good-bye. She seemed to forget about it for a while but on Friday did it really well, without any hand holding from dad, when mom left for work.

Claire is doing well feeding herself. With her cold the last few days she hasn't been too hip on taking the bottle so she has been getting more solids. She really likes banana, cheese, raisins (cut really small) and bread. The girl could wipe out a whole loaf. Not her mother's daughter at all, eh?? We'll see how she does with mashed potatoes :)
Yes mom, I will eat my banana.

And this is how she gets it in her mouth.

Our little flower amongst the flowers.

I loved watching her walk around. She's getting so big! What a cutie pie!
